For patients from Kuwait
Treatment in Azerbaijan for patients from Kuwait
Azerbaijan received more than 26,000 visitors from Kuwait in 2025, according to the State Statistics Committee, and most of them stayed in Baku, Gabala, Gusar, Guba and Shaki. Many travellers from Kuwait already know the country as a holiday destination, and the same trip can include a medical consultation, a check-up or a planned treatment in Baku.
Rules checked in October 2026. Your coordinator confirms them before every trip.
MedAzerbaijan helps you plan such a trip step by step. Our Arabic-speaking coordinator stays in touch with you before and during the visit, sends your medical reports to the clinic, explains the plan and arranges your transfers and accommodation.
Entry and stay
- 1
Citizens of Kuwait with an ordinary passport can enter Azerbaijan without a visa from 15 February 2026 to 15 February 2027. This is a temporary measure that allows up to 3 entries, with a stay of up to 30 days each time.
- 2
Under the same notice, people who travel for purposes other than tourism or who plan a longer stay must obtain the appropriate visa before entry. Before your trip your coordinator confirms which rule applies to your treatment plan, and if the treatment may last longer than 30 days, a visa arranged in advance may be needed, so please tell us early.
- 3
Residents of Kuwait of other nationalities who hold a Kuwaiti residence permit valid for at least 6 more months can receive a single entry 30-day tourist visa at Azerbaijan's international airports during the same period. If this does not apply to you, we check the visa options for your nationality.
- 4
If you stay longer than 15 days, you must register at the place of stay with the State Migration Service within 15 days of arrival. Usually the hotel or the resort submits it, and your coordinator checks that it is done.
- 5
Entry rules can change, and what applies after 15 February 2027 has not yet been announced. Your coordinator confirms the rules before every trip. Please also check that your passport is valid for the whole stay.
Getting to Azerbaijan
Kuwait City is on the list of direct destinations from Baku airport for the winter 2026-27 season, and a direct flight takes about 2 hours. Flight schedules between the Gulf and Baku changed several times during 2026, and the carriers and the number of flights per week vary by season, so your coordinator checks the current direct and connecting options for your dates. Our driver meets you at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku and takes you to your hotel or clinic.
Money and payments
- The local currency is the Azerbaijani manat, held at about 1.70 manat per US dollar. Exchanging Kuwaiti dinars at Baku banks is limited and the rates can be poor, so it is better to bring US dollars and exchange them at banks or licensed exchange offices.
- Visa and Mastercard cards are widely accepted in Baku. Whether your particular card works abroad depends on your bank, so please check this with your bank before travelling.
- Your coordinator advises on the payment options for treatment and services in advance, so that you know what to prepare.
