Procedure in Azerbaijan
Septorhinoplasty in Baku
One operation that corrects the nasal septum for breathing and changes the outer shape of the nose.
Typical figures. The exact plan is confirmed by the treating doctor after the medical review.
Septorhinoplasty in Baku is a single operation that works on two things at once, the inner structure of the nose that affects breathing and its outer shape. Inside, the surgeon straightens the septum and, when needed, reduces enlarged turbinates. Outside, the bridge, the tip or the proportions of the nose are corrected according to an agreed plan. It is performed at licensed clinics by plastic or ENT surgeons.
Planning starts with photos of your face, a description of your breathing complaints and a CT scan of the nose and sinuses, if you have one. The surgeon gives a preliminary opinion and may ask for additional imaging, and we send a written cost estimate before you travel. The final plan is agreed only after an examination in Baku. We arrange transfers, accommodation and an interpreter for the whole stay.
Who it may suit
- Adults with a deviated septum who would also like to change the shape of the nose
- People whose nose was injured in the past and now affects both breathing and appearance
- Those with a crooked nose where the outer curve and the inner septum are linked
- Patients whose facial growth is complete and whose general health allows surgery, as the doctors confirm
- People ready for a long recovery and willing to stop smoking for the period the surgeon advises
How the procedure is organised
-
1
Photos and breathing history
You send photos of your face, describe your breathing complaints and share any ENT reports or scans. The surgeon gives a preliminary opinion on both parts of the operation, and we prepare a written estimate.
-
2
Joint assessment in Baku
The surgeon examines the outer shape and the inside of the nose, often with an endoscope, and may request a CT if you do not have a recent one. Depending on the clinic, a plastic surgeon and an ENT surgeon may assess you together before the plan is agreed.
-
3
Tests and surgery day
After blood tests and an anaesthetist assessment, the operation is performed under general anaesthesia. The surgeon chooses an open approach, with a small incision between the nostrils, or a closed approach through the nostrils, depending on your plan.
-
4
First days after surgery
An external splint is fixed on the nose, and soft internal splints or packing may be placed, so nasal breathing is limited at first. Swelling and bruising are expected, and you rest with your head raised.
-
5
Removal of splints and check before flying
Usually about a week after surgery the external splint and any internal supports are removed. The surgeon checks the healing and the airway, gives written care instructions and confirms when you can fly.

Follow-up at home
You receive a discharge summary in Russian or English and a care plan that usually includes nasal rinses. We pass your photos and questions to the surgeon, who follows the shape and the breathing over the coming months.
What the cost depends on
The cost of septorhinoplasty is set individually. It depends on how much work is needed inside the nose and on its outer shape, whether the turbinates are treated, the type of anaesthesia, the clinic and the tests. After the surgeon reviews your photos and scans, we send a written estimate before you travel that lists what is included.
- The scope of work on the septum and the outer shape
- Treatment of the turbinates, if needed
- The clinic, the surgical team and the anaesthesia
- Imaging and tests before surgery
- Accommodation for you and a companion
Recovery and the trip home
- Nasal breathing is usually blocked for the first days and improves gradually as the swelling inside settles over several weeks.
- Bruising around the eyes often fades within two to three weeks, while the outer swelling decreases more slowly.
- The final shape of the nose develops over many months, and the surgeon assesses both the shape and the breathing at agreed intervals.
- Flying home is usually possible after the splints are removed, when the surgeon allows it, often about a week after surgery.

Frequently asked questions
How much does septorhinoplasty cost in Baku?
The cost depends on the scope of work inside the nose and on its shape, the anaesthesia, the clinic and the tests. After the surgeon reviews your photos and scans, we send you a written estimate before you travel. This way you know in advance what is included.
What is the difference between septorhinoplasty and rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty focuses mainly on the outer shape of the nose. Septorhinoplasty also corrects the septum, and sometimes the turbinates, to help breathing. Which operation suits you is decided by the surgeon after examining the nose inside and out.
Do I need a CT scan before the operation?
The surgeon may request a CT of the nose and sinuses to see the septum, the turbinates and the sinuses in detail. If you already have a recent scan, please send it with your photos. If not, it can usually be done in Baku before surgery.
When can I fly home after septorhinoplasty?
Usually after the splints are removed and the surgeon has checked the nose, often about a week after the operation. This is why we plan a stay of about seven to ten days. The surgeon makes the final decision.
Who performs the operation, a plastic or an ENT surgeon?
Depending on the clinic, septorhinoplasty is performed by a plastic surgeon, an ENT surgeon or both working together. We share information about the surgeon before you travel, and you can book an online consultation to discuss your goals. Many doctors in Azerbaijan speak Russian, and an interpreter is available when needed.
