Chin augmentation in Baku is performed at licensed clinics by plastic and maxillofacial surgeons. It aims to bring the chin into better balance with the nose, lips and jawline. Depending on your anatomy, the options may include a chin implant, genioplasty, in which the chin bone is repositioned, or fat grafting or fillers. The surgeon chooses the approach after examining you, and the procedure is often combined with rhinoplasty.

If the chin looks small because of a bite problem, the right first step may be a review by a maxillofacial surgeon or an orthodontist, and the surgeon tells you if this applies. You send photos of your face, including profiles, and dental or jaw X-rays if available. After a preliminary opinion we prepare a written estimate, and the plan is confirmed in person in Baku, where we arrange transfers and an interpreter.

Who it may suit

  • Adults whose facial growth is complete and who feel the chin looks small or set back
  • People planning rhinoplasty who would like the profile assessed as a whole
  • Those with an uneven chin, as assessed by the surgeon
  • People whose bite has been checked, since a significant bite problem may need orthodontic or jaw treatment first
  • Patients in good general health with realistic expectations, as confirmed by the doctors

How the procedure is organised

  1. 1
    Review of your photos

You send photos of your face from the front, both profiles and at three quarters, with your lips relaxed and teeth together. Dental or jaw X-rays help if you have them. After looking at them the surgeon shares a preliminary view, and we prepare a written estimate.

  2. 2
    Consultation in Baku

The surgeon examines the chin, the jaw and the bite and discusses which option suits you. If the bite needs attention first, the surgeon may suggest an opinion from a maxillofacial surgeon or an orthodontist. Tests and an anaesthetist assessment are arranged when surgery is planned.

  3. 3
    Procedure day

An implant is usually placed through a small incision under the chin or inside the mouth, and genioplasty is done from inside the mouth. Surgery is usually performed under general anaesthesia, though some cases may be managed with local anaesthesia and sedation. Fat grafting and fillers are less invasive options.

  4. 4
    First days after the procedure

Swelling, tightness and some numbness of the lower lip and chin are common at first. If the incision is inside the mouth, the surgeon advises soft food and careful rinsing, and our coordinator stays in touch with you.

  5. 5
    Check before flying home

The surgeon checks the healing and, if needed, removes the stitches about a week after surgery. You receive written care instructions, and the surgeon confirms when you can fly.

  6. 6
    Follow-up at home

You send photos at intervals agreed with the surgeon, and we pass on your questions. Swelling settles over several weeks to months, so the new shape is assessed gradually.

What the cost depends on

The cost of chin augmentation depends mainly on the method, such as an implant, genioplasty, fat grafting or fillers, and on whether it is combined with rhinoplasty. The anaesthesia, the clinic and the tests before surgery also play a part. After the surgeon has reviewed your photos, we send a written estimate before you travel, so you know what is included.

  • The method chosen by the surgeon
  • The implant or other materials used, if any
  • Combination with rhinoplasty or other procedures
  • Type of anaesthesia and length of the stay in the clinic
  • Tests, X-rays and accommodation for you and a companion

Recovery and the trip home

  • Swelling and bruising usually settle over 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the method, while fillers usually cause only brief swelling.
  • After surgery through the mouth, soft food and careful oral hygiene are needed for the period the surgeon sets.
  • Temporary numbness of the lower lip or chin may occur and usually settles gradually, but increasing pain, fever or redness should be reported to the surgeon at once.
  • Flying home is usually possible after the check-up about a week after surgery, but the surgeon makes the decision.

Frequently asked questions

How much does chin augmentation cost in Baku?

The price depends mainly on the method and on whether it is combined with rhinoplasty or other procedures. After the surgeon reviews your photos, we send a written estimate before you travel, so the costs are clear in advance.

Which should I choose, a chin implant or genioplasty?

Neither option is right for everyone. An implant adds volume to the chin, while genioplasty moves your own chin bone and can also change its position or correct asymmetry. The surgeon recommends an option after examining you and your X-rays.

Can chin augmentation be done together with rhinoplasty?

Yes, the two are often planned together because the nose and the chin shape the profile together. The surgeon decides whether combining them is right for you and explains how it affects recovery.

What if my chin is small because of my bite?

In this case the bite may need to be assessed first by a maxillofacial surgeon or an orthodontist. Sometimes jaw or orthodontic treatment suits better than chin augmentation alone. The surgeon tells you if this applies after reviewing your photos and X-rays.

Are fat grafting or fillers an option instead of an implant or bone surgery?

For a small change, the surgeon may suggest fat grafting or fillers. Fillers are temporary and need to be repeated, and part of the transferred fat may be absorbed. The surgeon explains whether these options suit you, and a shorter stay may then be enough.
